Isabelle Huppert (I Heart Huckabees) has landed a supporting role in Dead Man Down, Deadline has revealed.
Huppert, who will next be seen in two Cannes-bound films: Michael Haneke’s Amour (Love) and Hong Sang-Soo’s In Another Country, will star opposite Colin Farrell (Fright Night), Noomi Rapace (Babycall), Dominic Cooper (An Education) and Terrence Howard (Crash) in the crime-thriller.
The film, which is scheduled to shoot in May, centers on a crime lord’s right hand man (Farrell) who’s seduced by one of his boss’s victims (Rapace), a woman seeking retribution.
Huppert’s role is currently unknown, but her involvement marks a more high profile role for the actress well known for her performances in more arthouse titles, such as The Piano Lover and 8 Women.
Niels Arden Oplev, who brought Steig Larsson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series to the big screen, is attached to direct from a screenplay penned by J.H. Wyman (The Mexican).
